Rescuing and Repairing Vehicles for Good

Spending our spare minutes in the driveways of others trying to do our best to repair their vehicles to get them in driving and/or in better driving condition.

This white Toyota Sienna appeared in our life just at the right time and then our friends needed it more. Not only did they purchase this van from us, but they eagerly donated their previous Honda van to help love on others. Thank you Josey family for trusting in The Salvage Yard and displaying a kindness and readiness that so few get to see.

Just in the last two weeks, 9 needs have been brought to us.
NINE.
We have a few vehicles to meet these immediate needs, but they all require extensive work. 9 families are waiting on us. The standard of quality we desire, price on parts, labor, and the vehicles alone can be weighty. Each vehicle we work on takes an average of 40-50 man hours to get it up to our caliber and mechanically safe for the next driver.
With more and more needs being brought to us, the necessity of a second lift is great. With a car up on our current lift getting repaired and being occupied, we will be able to roll out that much more with the availability of a second lift to work from. The Salvage Yard has the room and capacity for another lift in the shop. We have the electricity wired and ready to go, all we need is a little help from you to make it happen!
The lift we are looking at is USA designed, welded and manufactured Mohawk Lifts. Our first lift is a Mohawk and because we have the experience and knowledge of it already, it is the safest and wisest decision to keep in unison with getting the same brand. With the rising costs of steel they will be halting their production soon. Purchasing the lift and having it professionally installed is over $10k.
If you feel at all led or believe in this mission to help these families get into mechanically sound rides and helping with a new lift, please prayerfully consider giving towards this mission and helping us continue to rescue and repair vehicles for good.
“We know that for those who love God work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. “ Romans 8:28
And this is our purpose.

The need of these former missionaries was brought to us by another and how we wish we could have gotten this van to them sooner. The time and expenses it took to make all of the repairs and produce a solid, mechanically safe vehicle, required us to move a little more slowly. We had a lot of hands help with this project and we are grateful for each and every one of them. This Sienna will lighten the burden this couple carries.

And in gratitude we were sung a song of thankfulness and given a true African thank you.

Looking for a way to help? Sponsor a vehicle by donating towards getting it mechanically sound. We have the vehicles, but now we have to get them ready. We go from bumper to bumper repairing and replacing what is needed to make it safe and reliable.

She had the courage to reach out to us and the patience as we went on a search to find a vehicle that could meet her needs. Honestly, it isn’t pretty, but that is not what is important here. After her history of untrustworthy cars, this one is mechanically sound. Thanks to the generosity of others, the weight of the burdens this student is carrying just got a little lighter. She is overwhelmed to now have a vehicle to get to school, medical appointments and her jobs.

Our friends and family came to celebrate the Lord’s goodness. It was a time of prayer, petition and blessings being poured out onto the work done here. It is not just about cars. Our life is filled with doubling and tripling meals, open doors and learning to humble ourselves to different and hard because this, this is what pushes the Kingdom forward.
