The Salvage Yard

Ms. Terry walks life with many, stepping into hard situations and loving on families. She saw the need and the burden it was for this mom of 4 to be without a vehicle trying to provide for her family. We are so grateful for the wisdom and faithfulness of Ms. Terry and her obedience to our Father to be a support to the mom’s around her. After many hours of repairs on this Honda, it will serve another mom and has many miles left to give.

This family is about to welcome baby number 6 and after they were in an accident with their previous vehicle without full coverage and funds to purchase another, they were in a bind. Their community reached out to us to help and came around them to purchase this Toyota Sienna. Our hope is to relieve a burden and provide a vehicle that will last for many more miles and years.

Wanting to get out of her older 5 speed manual and into a more reliable vehicle, she saved enough money and reached out to us. She was excited to get into this Toyota Prius as her grandparents were fans of the Prius and owned them. She was gracious and patient with us during the process and we are thankful we were able to help.

After enduring a terrible head on collision and numerous medical bills, this family was looking for a reliable minivan for their soon to be family of 5. We are grateful they trusted us throughout the entire process and hope this Toyota keeps them safe for many years to come.

After his wife was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, they needed a reliable vehicle to get to and from appointments and surgeries. Many hours were poured into this vehicle to make the right repairs and get this van ready for the road. This humble and faithful family works hard, serves well and is grateful for the community around them to help in this time of need.

We appreciate the patience this family had as we made the needed repairs on this Sequoia to get it ready. Our hope is that it lasts for years to come!

“E” sat next to “S” when she noticed this mom too had a toddler the same age. As their bond in motherhood grew, so did their relationship. Walking life with anyone comes with challenges, but navigating past trauma is hard. This family recognized their need for friendship, stepped in and demonstrated the love of Christ through weekly Bible studies, play dates and family meals. 

They purchased a vehicle from a tote the note lot and were on track to pay $37k for a $10k vehicle that was no longer drivable. The Salvage Yard was able to assess their situation, educate on relinquishing this vehicle and help them get into an affordable option. Our hope is that they feel that burden lifted, are now able to find a place of their own to live and grow as a family. 

When a community can come together to advocate for, support, sponsor and/or raise funds to help in this vehicle process, the success rate is higher and goals attained.

We may be called The Salvage Yard, but we are not a salvage yard. Our name is the depiction of something broken, being cast aside, labeled junk and in need of redemption just as our sinfulness, our wicked hearts are in need of a Savior to make us whole again.

We have a responsibility to steward all that we are given, let us all strive to walk in obedience. It may not be what looks good to this world, but what is best for the Kingdom.

This brave girl is set out to make a difference, overcoming odds, attending her first year of college after aging out of the foster care system. With the help of her CASA advocate, we were able to help find the right vehicle for her to purchase. We were then able to make all the needed repairs, which included pulling the engine, guide her in driving lessons and how to fuel it up. We are grateful for her ambition, her patience, and trusting us in this process.
