The Salvage Yard

This vehicle was challenging at times with many hours poured into it, but knowing a burden is taken away from this mom as she is now able to drive to work, striving towards providing a place for her and her boys is important work. 

Good used cars under $10K can be difficult to find, especially reliable ones, or ones that don’t need work done to it right away. This couple came to us as a referral and were pleased to find a vehicle that met their needs for their son. It’s rare when we have a vehicle ready right away, but the timing worked in their favor and we appreciate them trusting TSY.

After living expenses were too much and trying to save money for her own place, this mom was living out of her car this summer with no AC. She was overjoyed to get into a vehicle that better fits her needs. With the generosity of others, we were able to perform all the necessary repairs to get this Highlander safe for the road and her family.

They came all the way from Arizona to volunteer their time to help us and even got to work on the vehicle they purchased from us. Thank you Reimer family for your servant hearts, your patience, good conversations and trusting The Salvage Yard.

This family then donated their van (that they got from TSY years ago to a woman in need)!

As the transitional living director of Refuge for Women, which provides a safe place for women who are victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation, she asked us to step into some of these women’s situations and assess with their vehicle repairs. Learning she needed help with her own car, we were able to offer advice and help her get into something more affordable and reliable. We are grateful for all of the work she does and trusting us to help her when there are so many unknowns in the auto industry.

Home from overseas and these missionaries were needing a reliable vehicle as they transition into new roles. Bringing His Good News to those who haven’t heard is their passion and we’re grateful to serve them as they continue to pursue international students with the hope that they might experience the transforming grace of Christ.

Some days our words are few and our hearts heavy. But stepping into the darkness to show the greatness of our God is what we are called to do. The road has been long and steep for this mom, but through the help of many, we were able to get her into a vehicle to help her gain independence and provide for her family.

This van is the only means of transportation for this busy mom of 4 and the transmission went out. We are surrounding this family and trying to raise $5,500 for the repair to meet this need.
