The Salvage Yard

This vehicle is moving on from us and helping another in achieving self sufficiency. We are grateful for the trust and support this family has given us throughout the years and she is so excited to have this Volvo!

The response of this young mom’s community to take action in helping her gain independence is encouraging. Through the help of her mentor, her employer and the people around her, she is climbing out and providing the necessities for her family.

Some days look like the car on the lift, making repairs, picking up parts at a dealership, test driving a vehicle, rescuing a vehicle that is not starting or stopping on the side of the road to help put on a spare. Some days, it is all of them.

This hardworking mom of two struggled though a divorce, addiction, and mental health difficulties. We met her on the side of the road helping a friend with a flat tire without the right tools. Every person put in front of us if for a reason. Through the generosity of another family, this Toyota Yaris meets her need of “a tiny car with enough room to carry my cleaning supplies because that is how I make a real living and it gives me joy.” Let us all be overflowing in the gifts He has given us. It shows great of our great God.

These Denver church planters answered the call to serve their community; loving their neighbors, opening their home, and sharing the love of Jesus. We are grateful they trusted The Salvage Yard with a 4WD vehicle for their family of 7 and know the mountains of CO got a good one!

Because of an excessive oil leak, 3-5 quarts of oil was being put into this car a day. We ended up removing the transmission to replace the rear main seal to remedy it, along with addressing a few other things. What would have been a couple thousand dollar repair, was turned into just a couple of hundred dollars thanks to our donor ship and their part in helping us serve this mom and her kiddos as well.

This family gathered around their sister-and-daughter-in-law to help provide all 31 repairs needed to make this van a safe and reliable vehicle for her family. Thank you for seeing the need and stepping in and trusting us with process.
